Description

A bit of a philosophical insight for you, today. I discuss why German thinker Martin Heidegger disappoints because some of his insights are just peasants’ wisdom encoded as “academic philosophy”. I point out that Heidegger’s distinction between practical thinking (which he denounces as “unthinking”) and more meditative states of thinking (which calls “thinking”) are really the difference between more technical and practical-minded thoughts of men, versus the more generalist and more meditative thoughts of women. Both serve a perfect fine purpose, but then I propose a third way of thinking: embracing the peasants’ way, or simply, a return to common sense.
